Textiles Project: Two

So I was browsing the interweb, and I found a picture of a beautiful dress that I'd LOVE to buy, but there's a problem, I'm almost completely broke, and I WANT THAT DRESS. So I've decided to make it. I've started looking for fabric but I cant find anything similar, so I've decide to go with the same one I used for making my maxi dress. (btw, im making a maxi dress)


This is the dress I cant afford, and the fabric I'll be using :

All I need to do now is to make a body form, then I can start sewing :D

Textiles Challenge = DONE

As you may or may not remember, a while ago I set myself a textiles challenge, to recreate the Burberry SS 10 criss-cross skirts. And well, I think I did it! :)

I've set myself a textiles challenge :)

So im looking at the Burberry Prorsum ss 2010 collection, and I'm thinking, "I can so do these skirts!"

And you know what? I think i might just have to. I saw these simple instructions of how to do it, but I think I'll have to mix it up a bit.

I'll check back in a couple of weeks, after I can find the right fabric. If anyone knows what kind of fabric I can use, I'll be forever indebted to you.

Who likes short shorts?

So I'm bored on a Saturday morning, and I see my mums old pair of size 14 jeans and I think "Where can i get a pair of shorts in that colour?" I almost feel stupid for not thinking it before but, I made myself some shorts! It was a bit of a challenge making something size 14 to something size 10, but I did it, and I'm proud.

So this is what I did:

• Cut short
• Remove zipper
• Move crotch along
• Move button hole
• Adjust seams to make it smaller
• Roll up bottoms

And bada big bada boom, we got lift off!

I'm quite happy, I made myself shorts within the hour :)
