Sarah Burton, kudos

As the first official collection for Alexander McQueen under new direction is revealled, the beauty and fluidity of the late McQueen flows through the masterpieces effortlessly as the elfish looking models sahay their way down the asthetic catwalk. It would be a hard task to think of what great power would take over the McQueen legacy, but when the choice is revealed, the sex is surprising. Sarah Burton, having worked along-side the original creator for 15 years, it's clear his influence has rubbed off. The symbolic clarity and vision of Alexander McQueen's successor is amazing.Oh the splendour and detailing, it can only be down to genius. When I heard of his death, I thought, "That's it, alternative high fashion is dead. I'll never see an Alexander McQueen collection that will live up to the rest." Sarah, how I love thee. Her debut collection for Alexander McQueen is nothing short of genius. Only a true apparel professional could have the imagination and vision to create this collection. Sarah Burton, I have noting but respect for you.

With this dress I absolutely LOVE the belt. It's beautiful, it's detailed, and terrifically embellished. 

Wow, wow, wow. A gold leaf embellished tuxedo. Can I have it?

This may possibly be the definition of my style decadence. Leather and gold = LOVE 

This dress can only be described as godly. Gold upon gold; it's like the creation of a Greek goddess. 

This is something that I can only call natural beauty. Butterflies are like the symbol of pure beauty, of which this is. 

I just love it. No words can describe what I really feel about this dress. 

This dress is layered to a ridiculous extent, but it seems like its air light, with the model gliding effortlessly along with the dress. I feel that if I were wearing this, I could fly like a bird. 

My Sugar Rush Just Dipped

UGH! I've just watch the Chanel spring summer 2010 haute couture collection, and i hated it!! This was odd, as usually, i actually like Chanel; but this was terrible. It was near painful to watch. Although I usually only have positive things to day about Chanel, I am allowed a criticism of Karl Lagerfeld. It was a considerably large collection, but it was ALL to do with the recent sugar/pastel tone of colours, and everything was either massively fluffy, horribly shiny, or tweed! These are almost now pet hates of mine. I usually tolerate those things fluffy, but this just took the biscuit, i sometimes despise shiny things, but now I feel like it's always, and now I hate tweed. Now with Chanel, tweed doesn't look classic and sophisticates, it looks messily restyled.

Furthermore, the most annoying thing was that it started off all right! I saw it and I though that it wasn't too bad, I even liked some of the remastered tweed, but it just got progressively worse. As the models sauntered down the runway they had ridiculous grey highlights in their hair and detestable glittery silver tights.

Everything in there was a little girls fairy tale of fluff, an old woman's perception of a cool tweed, or a woman in a shiny satin nightie in a 60s movie. Christ, this makes me mad.

Catwalk Report: Lanvin S/S 2010

Do you hear that? That is the inner screaming of women around the globe frantically trying to get their hands on one of Lanvin beautifully sleek Spring/Summer 2010 dresses. Lavin is back this year and are fuelling our needs for the chic and extra sleek Parisian feel of these trademark off the shoulder and one shoulder dresses. The most luxurious blacks to the warm peaches and grey. Alber Elbaz brought out a technically as well as visually stunning collection , his designs ranged from plenty of layering and ruffles to bright coloured draping , the show opened with a draped ruffle collar dress in black with a satin sash belt.The show then progresses with some draping in pastel colours in nude and mandarin , and ruffle balloon sleeves in pink.
A surprise silk black one-shoulder jump suit cropped in during the show and for one i love it even if it lacks lots of creativity. The simplest things in fashion are often the most successful. This piece will be absolutely flying off racks!
There may have been one jumpsuit success for Lanvin but following it there was a flop with the garish looking tastled and sparkling gold one. This was followed by a gold and silver tastled dress to accompany.

I was not surprised about the amount of draping in this show but i was disapointed. Lanvin but known for draping and has rarely changed from that. The most beautiful piece in my opinion was an ankle length black silk dress with a large leg slit revealing the left leg. this number is classy and solphisticate while still being oh-so sexy with the leg slit and one shoulder. The dress was worn with cream t bar shoes.

Christopher Kane SS 2010

I've just had a look at Christopher Kane's SS 2010 collection and I'm surprised. It's a lot daintier than i would have expected from him; most of the pieces have a pastel colour check theme but the designs are rather simple and seemed to lack effort of creativity. This season's collection is not as aggressive as I would have hoped for it to be; with its thigh slits and shear fabrics. If I dare say, I found it a little repetitive. There is an obvious male tailoring touch with a few pieces, with waistcoats, full suits, and suit jackets.
